FILIGREE (dk)

75% SW Fine Merino/25% Mulberry Silk⎜230 yards

This yarn just gives and gives and gives. Like Song, this base is enchantingly soft. And the silk offers an added serving of strength and warmth. But the truly noteworthy characteristic of this yarn is its glimmer; Filigree offers a rich luster than seems to toy with light as you turn it over in your hands. This is what inspired its name, as it reminded me of the jewel-like way that the plies dance in the sun's rays. 

Color Character: Filigree results in brighter color profiles owing to the silk content. Because the silk acts as a light reflector colors appear slightly lighter than they do on merino bases.

100% Fine Merino (super wash) ⎜400 yards

This is a single strand yarn with a high twist to keep it looking clean with refined stitch definition. Very soft with a little luster that gives the impression of silk...even though there is none in the fiber content. There is something so simple, delicate, and softly satisfying about working with a singles base. Unique from other bases, with regard to dyeing, the color seems not only saturate the yarn but to actually hug it. It's an affect that has to be seen first hand, and once you do you'll be back for more "One" skeins because you just can't get enough. 

Color Character: One nurtures deeply saturated color profiles and creates gorgeous layered dynamics that make over tones appear as if they are floating upon the surface of the yarn. In my studio this is one of my favorite bases to work with as the results repeatedly mesmerize me and inspire gorgeous glazing possibilities.

SERENITY (light fingering)

100% Baby Alpaca⎜215 yards

 This yarn is so incredibly soft (yes, even softer than the merino), and at an excellent price. Really, I hate to put down any project that I am knitting or crocheting in Serenity...so, I inevitably end up leaving the laundry in the dryer just a little longer so I can indulge in a few more rows. In addition to being crazy soft, alpaca is also remarkably warm (yes, even warmer than merino) and because it doesn't have a great deal of spring to it, it offers gorgeous drape. Now, alpaca does not felt, so you don't have to be concerned with shrinkage, however, as with all our yarns we recommend that you hand wash your serenity items to keep them lovely for a long long time.
